Yellowjackets Season 4 BTS Video Teases Something Fascinating

If you know me, you know that Yellowjackets is my favorite television series ever created, and one of my favorite pieces of entertainment out there. So the wait for the upcoming fourth and final season is absolutely grueling, but I’m confident that when it premieres later this year, it’ll be the most thrilling, emotional, and satisfying send-off imaginable.
Just this past week, the official social media accounts for the series posted a very short video confirming that the fourth season is indeed in production. Sadly, the video doesn’t showcase any new footage from the season, instead showcasing the insane cliffhanger scene from season three in which Sophie Thatcher‘s Natalie Scatorccio manages to finally radio for help, promising a much awaited rescue scene in one of the new episodes.
Yesterday, however, there was a behind-the-scenes video that was posted that shows off some genuinely crazy things. Things that may have actually spoiled a bit of the new season already! The video kicks off with Nia Sondaya (Akilah) happily talking about season four while she’s sitting in… a hospital?
Post-rescue timeline confirmed?
Does this mean that Akilah actually does manage to make it out of the wilderness with the rest of the team? And if so, why have we never seen her adult counterpart in the show up to this point? Does she perhaps die while back in New Jersey at the hands of one of the girls?
Then we get a quick shot of Jasmin Savoy Brown (Teen Taissa) standing in front of a sign that reads “The Skeletal System,” seemingly further confirming that the cast is in a hospital. Now unless the cast and crew decided to randomly film this behind-the-scenes clip in a hospital, it certainly seems like the new season will have at least one scene of the girls recovering from their injuries and traumas in a hospital back home.
But the most fascinating clip from the video comes when we see both Courtney Eaton (Teen Lottie) and Sophie Nelisse (Teen Shauna), as Nelisse’s face is covered in fake blood, almost like she’s been hurt. Do the Yellowjackets finally stand up for themselves and fight back against Shauna for all of the hardship she’s put them through?
Sadly, we won’t get our answers until the end of the year most likely seeing as how production has only just begun on season four this week, with an estimated end date of July 30th. Then, of course, post-production and marketing have to then occur before the final season premieres for the world to enjoy. My prediction is that we’ll get at least the first episode of the season right after Christmas, while the remaining episodes will be released in the first bit of 2027. Of course, only time will tell. One thing is for sure: the wait is going to be excruciating.
