«The collective wants to achieve immortality.» «But at what cost, doctor?» VMI Worldwide has revealed an official trailer for The Dresden Sun, an indie sci-fi thriller made by filmmaker Michael Ryan. He has been working on this for over a decade, trying to get this ambitious sci-fi project together. Now it’s finally done and ready to go. In a world where technology and humanity collide, The Dresden Sun tells the gripping story of survival, betrayal, and redemption in a dystopian future. Starring an incredible ensemble cast including Steven Ogg, Linus Roache, Samantha Win, Richard Blackmon, plus featuring Mena Suvari and Christina Ricci in lead roles, this film delivers a cinematic experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat. «Change is constant. Death is Inevitable.» A mercenary’s heist of «the sphere» object from Peredor Corp goes wrong. C and Earth Corp go on the hunt to find this otherworldly tech for their science project. A financial analyst flees deadly rivals amid corporate espionage. As vibrant and flashy as this looks, filled with VFX galore, this looks a bit too generic and fancy to be properly exciting. Sci-fi fans should still have a look.

A brilliant, principled mercenary with a traumatic past works an inside job to steal «the sphere», a valued asset from Peredor Corporation, but the heist goes wrong. Meanwhile, The C & Earth corporation hopes to use a scientist’s project to gain dominance. Whilst an analyst at the powerful investment firm Mutual One is caught between deadly corporate rivals, financial fraud, technological espionage, and ends up on the run from a psychopathic military contractor. The Dresden Sun is both written and directed by indie genre filmmaker Michael Ryan, of the films The Silencer & The Sky and Interpreters: A C & Earth Chronicle — Quantum 1 previously, plus a few shorts. Produced by Stuart Davis, Benjamin Easterday, Tyler Lockamy, Michael Ryan. This hasn’t premiered at any festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. VMI will debut Ryan’s The Dresden Sun movie in US theaters starting February 6th, 2026 coming soon. Anyone want to watch?
